You arrive.
You come in off Victoria Street to white tablecloths, dark timber and a carved screen along the windows. Your table is ready.
A meal at Malabar, from the moment you walk in.
The ceiling is acoustic, so even a full room stays quiet enough to hear the person across the table.

You have brought a bottle from home. We open it and pour it into our Malabar glasses. Corkage is $5 per person, or you can choose from our wine list.
Not sure what to choose? Ask us. We will help you pick a few dishes to share, mild or with more heat, and tell you how much the table will need.
Everything comes from Chef Mohammed Sali's kitchen. The masalas are ground in-house, and the black pepper from the Malabar Coast is ground fresh each morning. Dishes go in the middle of the table, and everyone reaches in.
Leave room for something sweet. Have it with a masala chai, or an Indian filter coffee made with Monsoon beans from the Malabar Coast.
The plates are cleared and the chai is finished. Someone asks for another, because nobody is ready to leave yet.
