Onam Sadya is a traditional vegetarian feast deeply embedded in the cultural heritage of Kerala. It has its roots in the ancient agricultural practices of the region, with the Onam festival marking the end of the harvest season. The Sadya, which translates to "banquet" in Malayalam, is a celebration of the abundance brought by the harvest and a way to express gratitude for nature’s generosity. This feast, served on a banana leaf, has been a central part of Onam celebrations for centuries, symbolising prosperity, unity, and the joy of coming together as a community.
